Along with many other businesses, the last few months of COVID-19 has also been a difficult period for our store. We have followed all government guidelines for in-store health and safety while still attempting to service our many loyal customers around Melbourne.

To ensure the health and safety of everyone who visits our store and our own staff, we are cleaning surfaces throughout each day and immediately after any eye examinations.

We are also maintaining stringent hand hygiene practices when packaging and sending contact lens orders.

Even with this second lockdown, we are sure we will all come out the other side and adapt to the ‘new normal’ for retailers over the remainder of 2020 and beyond. However, it’s important to have confidence in the brands we choose to partner with, both for prescription glasses and contact lenses.

Contact Lens Supplier Updates

Over the last few months, our main suppliers have provided regular updates on their manufacturing processes and safety standards during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We believe the measures put in place, especially strict product sterilisation, will limit any potential risks associated with packaging and distribution.

According to the World Health Organization, the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is very low and the risk of catching the virus from a package that has been moved, travelled, and exposed to different conditions and temperatures is also low.

Wearing Your Contact Lenses

As we work through the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to provide some basic guidance on safely using contact lenses. There’s currently no evidence that contact lens wear poses a risk of infection with COVID-19.

Therefore, you should continue to follow the wear and care instructions while using contact lenses, especially the thorough washing of hands prior to inserting or the taking out of contacts.

All of our best selling contact lenses from Alcon and Johnson & Johnson remain in good supply, so if you need to stock up on Dailies Total 1 or Acuvue TruEye you can complete your order as you normally would.

For any new customers, we have an extremely simple sign up and ordering process that takes less than two minutes. Our store also has a fantastic Recurring Orders feature, which means you will never run out of contact lenses ever again!

If you have any concerns about using your contact lenses at the moment, our in-store optometrist is happy to answer your questions.
